Ultimate Ayurvedic Skin Care Routine

We all have had our time with skin problems, be it pimples, blemishes and dark spots. They keep coming in, and most of the times, they arrive like an unwanted guest, when we need to be at our best.

You might have tried out all the remedies, pills, those cosmetics that xyz influencer had promoted but nothing seems to work on that and getting a flawless skin seems like top of the Everest task. It is mainly because, skin on our face is much thinner than rest of the body and needs more care and also, the skin problems are often just symptoms our body shows of the problems we have internally.

This 4 step procedure is a holistic skin care routine, and has been practiced in India for thousands of years with proper backing of Ayurvedic Texts.

After waking up, one should drink ample quantity of water. It depends on person to person, however one should target at least half litres. This is very important as the water we drink will take the morning saliva into our digestive tracts, aiding in its cleansing, which ultimately brings out glowing skin.

Step 1: Ayurvedic Drink

After drinking water and doing the morning cleaning routine, take 4 teaspoons of Giloy Stem Juice (Tinospora Cordifolia), 4 Teaspoons of Wheatgrass juice , 4 Teaspoons of Aloevera juice (with pulp) and 1 Tea spoon of Turmeric Juice. Pour 13 Teaspoons of water to it and have it.

How to drink it and what are its benefits?

It is very important to drink by sipping it slowly. Daily dose of this powerful Ayurvedic concoction will make your skin cells stronger, heals your body from within and gives natural glow to your body. This improves your skin immunity along with overall immunity and you’ll no longer face problems like Pimples, blackheads, itching, spots etc.

Caution: Donot eat or drink anything for 40 minutes after drinking this concoction. Let the herbs have their time to do their work.

 

Step 2: Face mask  

According to Ayurveda, skin problems are generally associated with increased Pitta humour of the body. Therefore, you need something to cooling to disengage the aftermath of increased pitta. The best coolant that Indians have been using since thousands of years is Multani Mitti (Fuller’s Earth). Multani mitti has been used to get rid of skin issues and achieve radiant, blemish free skin.

How to use it?

Take a small chunk of multani mitti, pour a little water which will soften the multani mitti. Now stir it and its ready to be applied on the skin. Apply evenly and wait for 15 minutes. Then wash off the mask with running tap water.

If you have dry skin: Use it 2 times a week

For oily skin: 3 Times a week

Multani Mitti is a great agent to clean, exfoliate and nourish your skin. It has active elements that effectively absorb oil, dirt sweat and other impurities.

 

Step 3: Moisturize

It is time to moisturize your skin. There are many cosmetic products available , give them a break and use Kumkumadi Tailam. Kumkumadi Tailam is often referred as miraculous elixir and is made from red gold saffron and 25 other herbs. It is especially made for skin of the face and has been passed over as a beauty secret from generations, in India.

How to use?

Take 3-4 drops of Kumkumadi Tailam and massage it gently on your face. It improves skin texture , removes spots , black heads and acts as a natural sunscreen.

Step 4: Night Cream

No matter how hard we try, due to pollution and other environmental factors, our skin tends to get dull.

That’s where the final step of this skin care routine works wonder. Before going to bed, wash your face and apply this homemade night cream.

How to make it?

Take 1 Teaspoon each of Glycerine, lemon juice and rosewater. Stir it and apply evenly on your face with cotton. No need to wash off, just go to sleep and let the mixture do its wonder while you’re giving your body a much needed rest.
